WEST KELOWNA — The best in the world. That’s the honour West Kelowna’s Kalala Organic Estate Winery received for its Chardonnay Icewine at this year’s Chardonnay du Monde Competition in France. “Oh, it’s feeling great,” says Karnail Singh Sidhu, owner of Kalala. His 2013 vintage Chardonnay Icewine stood up to 300 international expert judges and went up against entries from all over the world.

A West Kelowna winery is on top of the world. Kalala Organic Estate Winery’s Chardonnay was named best in the world at the Chardonnay du Monde competition in France. Kalala has placed in the Top 10 twice before (2010 and 2014), but this year marks its biggest win yet. Of 782 wines from 39 countries, Kalala’s 2013 Chardonnay Icewine received the highest number of points in the prestigious competition.

A West Kelowna winery has the best wine in the world. Kalala Organic Estate Winery recently won top spot in the Chardonnay du Monde competition. The competition took place in France from Mar. 8-11. Back in 2010 and 2014 the West Kelowna winery placed in the top ten, but this year was the year they finally took home gold.

A West Kelowna winery has added a feather to its wine vintage hat after winning a wine judging competition held in France earlier this month. The Kalala Organic Estate Winery had placed in the Top 10 twice before in the Chardonnay du Monde contest (2010 and 2014). But this year, of the 782 wine samples from 39 countries that entered the competition, the Kalala 2013 Chardonnay Icewine received the highest number of points, granting them the top spot in the prestigious competition.
