Karnail Singh Sidhu has won the BC Grape Growers’ Association’s inaugural viticulturist of the year award.
Sidhu, who is the proprietor, managing director and viticulturist at Kalala Organic Estate Winery, will receive a $2,000 bursary towards attending a viticulture education event. Read More.

The Kalala Organic Estate Winery had placed in the Top 10 twice before in the Chardonnay du Monde contest (2010 and 2014). But this year, of the 782 wine samples from 39 countries that entered the competition, the Kalala 2013 Chardonnay Icewine received the highest number of points, granting them the top spot in the prestigious competition.
