This port-style icewine is brick coloured with a velvety texture and balanced acidity. It displays aromas and flavours of dried fruit, toasted hazelnuts and butterscotch.
The organic Zweigelt grapes were grown in West Kelowna: the Kalala vineyard and the
Paynter Family vineyard. Picking started for this long hanging fruit on December 9 when the
temperature dropped to -9 and got progressively colder through picking. The fruit ended at 38 Brix.
4 tons of grapes were picking giving 1,000 L of icewine.
This small batch of Zweigelt icewine was fermented slowly over 60 days using a specially selected yeast called 2 TD. Partial barrel aging.

“Organic Zweigelt grapes from the Kalala vineyard in West Kelowna are at the heart of an icewine they call port-style. Picking for the long hanging fruit began on December 9 at -9 C and got progressively colder throughout the pick. The small batch of icewine was fermented slowly over 60 days using a selected yeast and partial barrel ageing. The colour is an amber orange, the flavours soft, chewy caramel with a long, spicy, soft finish.” Check full review
